On 16 November 2023, the State Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued a public notice announcing the list of enterprises in line with the industry normative conditions for the comprehensive utilisation of scrap iron and steel, waste paper, waste plastics, waste tyres, and waste power storage batteries for new energy vehicles. In this announced list, Shanghai Zili Strapping Co., Ltd. stands out and successfully selected the enterprise list of "Comprehensive Utilisation of Scrap Plastics Industry Normative Conditions" (the seventh batch), and becomes one of the few baling band producers in the industry that have gone through the national audit. This is not only an affirmation of Zili Strapping's contribution to technological innovation and environmental protection, but also a remarkable recognition of our leading position in the field of comprehensive utilisation of waste plastics.

Scrap Plastics Comprehensive Utilisation Industry Normative Conditions

The Industry Specification Conditions for Comprehensive Utilisation of Scrap Plastics is a policy and regulation issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China to strengthen the management of the industry of comprehensive utilisation of scrap plastics, regulate the order of development of the industry, and improve the technical level of the comprehensive utilisation of scrap plastics, aiming at the development of a recycling economy, the promotion of the optimisation and upgrading of enterprises, the strengthening of environmental protection, the enhancement of the technical and managerial level of the comprehensive utilisation of resources, and the guidance of healthy and sustainable development of the industry. The Specification Conditions for the Comprehensive Utilisation of Scrap Plastics Industry stipulates the establishment and layout of enterprises, the scale of production and operation, the comprehensive utilisation of resources and energy consumption, technology and equipment, etc., and points out that enterprises should make full use of collected scrap plastics and improve the efficiency of resource recycling and utilisation.

Since its establishment in 1998, Shanghai Zili Strapping Co., Ltd. has been committed to the research, development and production of PET strapping, PP strapping, wrap-around film and other plastic packaging materials. We have the first microcomputer-controlled PET strapping production line in China, and have established the world's largest single-unit factory for PET strapping and the first fully integrated intelligent strapping factory in China. Zili currently has 30 internationally advanced strapping band production lines, 6 granulation lines and 2 SSP high viscosity particle production lines, with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes of strapping bands, 150,000 tonnes of PET particles and 120,000 tonnes of high viscosity particles. As one of the four largest production bases in the world, we always adhere to the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development, and provide high-quality PET strapping products, which have been distributed to all provinces and cities in China and exported to Europe, America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and other regions, and are highly recognised by domestic and foreign customers.

Environmental protection first to achieve sustainable development

“Green, low-carbon, recycling" is the eternal topic of the plastics industry. Within 800km of Shanghai, Zili has set up 150 recycling stations for baling bands and a recycled plastic particle processing plant in Malaysia, with an annual recycling capacity of 200,000 tonnes. By recycling 200,000 tonnes of recycled plastics per year and using a 3MW rooftop photovoltaic system, we have achieved an annual emission reduction of 285,000 tonnes of CO2. We invest no less than 25% of our annual profit in the research and development of new products, the purchase of scientific research equipment, and the upgrading and renovation of our production lines, to continually improve the competitiveness of our products, and to promote the efficient use of resources and the sustainable protection of the environment. In addition, on the basis of its main business, Zili is also actively expanding its diversified businesses, including intelligent packaging solutions, to inject new vitality into the development of the industry.
